Nothing can stop the Pow! Wow! After a long hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Jasper Wong and the Pow! Wow! community came back stronger than ever with their inaugural museum exhibition at the Bishop Museum in Honolulu. Bishop Museum’s vast collections, galleries, and outdoor spaces provided an immersive contemporary art experience made to bridge traditional Hawaiian culture, contemporary creative expression, and indigenous perspectives.

Redefined.Media tagged along to document the Pow! Wow! artist collective as they reunited under one roof to share culture, educate the public, and collaborate with their unique talents. In this long-form video, we hear from the Pow! Wow! ohana as they discuss the challenges they endured throughout the 2020 pandemic lockdown and how they were able to overcome it with a shared mission and true passion for art education.
